How To See A Classical Concert At Schönbrunn Palace?

The best way to beat these pandemic blues is with some music. But you may be tired of listening to music on your devices. If that's your case then it's time to experience some fine classical music by getting some Vienna opera tickets. But where in Vienna? Definitely at the Schönbrunn Palace. Why this place specifically? Because you deserve what's fit for a king. After all, this was the place where emperor Joseph II invited Mozart for a performance.

Where does the concert take place?

The Schönbrunn orangery was built because someone decided that there needed to be a place where they could grow oranges. It stretches for a huge length of around 189m. It is 10m wide. The interior is breathtaking and warm. One of the most famous concerts which happened here was Mozart's The Impresario opera in 1786 for Emperor Joseph II. Now well over 200 years alter Mozart still reigns. Mozart and Strauss concerts are held here and they are performed by Schönbrunn orchestra. The orchestra is accompanied by ballet dancers and singers too.

Also while most of the concerts occur in the beautiful orangery but sometimes special concerts are held in what is called The Great Gallery and the White-and-Gold rooms. The Great Gallery is right in the towering place and was used for hosting imperial balls once upon a time.

Tickets information

  • Don't worry about tickets, you will get daily tickets online and as a bonus, you will get an option to take a tour of the beautiful place. So ideally combining a tour with a beautiful concert will certainly be a great way to spend your day.

  • Don't have money for a concert? There's no need to worry. Schönbrunn offers another concert that is free for anyone to attend. But the problem is that this concert by the renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra takes place only once every year in summer.

  • If you want to spend time doing something else other than listening to a concert all day long or spending time on a guided tour, then know that there's plenty of other entertainment and sights which you can enjoy. When you get tired get some refreshments at Landtmann’s Jausen Station.

You might want to not do the more touristy thing by coming for a Schönbrunn Palace concert but you will be missing out on an experience of a lifetime.
